Register of Deeds

I was sworn into office as your Southern Middlesex Register of Deeds on January 2, 2013.

I was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  My parents immigrated from Italy to Cambridge in 1956.  They settled in Somerville where I was raised and still reside.  My parents always encouraged me to work hard and help others.

Before becoming elected, I built a prominent law practice and practiced law for over two decades.  I worked very hard while also raising two children as a single mom.  I also felt the need to do more to help others and decided to commit myself to public service.

As Register, I serve as Assistant Recorder of the Land Court.  I am a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the United States District Court, the United States Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.  I am also multi-lingual.  My legal background, management skills, attention to detail, and strength in advocacy provide me with a strong foundation for my position as Register of Deeds.

My background and experience make me uniquely qualified to serve the great constituents of Southern Middlesex County.

Recording and keeping of land records require knowledge of laws, standards and guidelines implemented to safeguard homeowners, consumers and constituents from negligent or intentional actions of others.

Legal background and experience in real estate law is invaluable to safeguarding documents to the fullest extent possible under the law.
